An Incredible Opportunity for High School Juniors and Sophomores!

Since 1995, Expanding Horizons Institute (EHI) has provided first-generation, college-bound high school students with an intensive experience of skill development and personal growth that prepares them for college, career, and civic life through interactive seminars and paid summer internships.

EHI is a dynamic program that provides you the opportunity to:

  • Challenge yourself in new ways
  • Be exposed to professional career paths
  • Cultivate networking opportunities from successful professionals & other high school students 
  • Improve your communication, collaboration, & leadership skills
  • Gain confidence, responsibility, and a sense of independence
  • Receive SAT prep & college admissions advice from experts
  • Become civically engaged

You must meet the following criteria:

  • Neither parent graduated from a four-year college
  • A sophomore or junior attending a Title I high school
  • Attend all seminars and complete internship hours - March 26 - July 11. (Complete list of dates.)
  • Eligible to work in the United States 

2024 Important Dates:

  • Application deadline is January 31.
  • First round of interviews - February 23 & 24.
  • Second round of interviews at job sites - March 4 to 26.
  • Seminars and internships - March 26 - July 11. (Complete list of dates.
